Published 2013-10-22

We have some wonderful news for expectant mums and their partners across Buckshaw Village, Chorley and the surrounding area. HypnoBirthing is coming to The Hub, giving local families a calm and welcoming place to prepare for the birth of their baby. Classes are led by Rebecca Wright of Peaceful Births, right here at The Hub in Unity Place, with free parking just off the M6.

What is HypnoBirthing?

HypnoBirthing is a gentle, practical antenatal programme that helps you release fear and approach birth with calm and confidence. Through deep relaxation, breathing and visualisation techniques, you and your birth partner learn how to work naturally with your body during labour, so birth can feel more comfortable, more positive and more in your control.

Rather than seeing birth as something to be feared, HypnoBirthing gives you the tools and the mindset to trust your body and stay relaxed throughout. Many parents find the techniques useful not only during labour but also in the early weeks with their new baby.

The HypnoBirthing course at The Hub

The full course runs to 12.5 hours of teaching, spread comfortably across five weeks on Monday evenings at The Hub. Taking your time over several weeks gives you the chance to learn each technique properly and to practise at home, so it feels natural and familiar by the time your baby arrives.

The course is designed for mums to begin from around 20 weeks of pregnancy. Starting at this stage means you have plenty of time to build your confidence and rehearse your birth preparation before your due date.

Your place includes all of your course materials, a relaxation CD to use at home, and ongoing support from Rebecca throughout your journey.

Why families choose HypnoBirthing

  • Simple relaxation and breathing techniques for a calmer birth
  • Practical tools to release fear and stay in control during labour
  • A shared experience that involves your birth partner every step of the way
