We are delighted to share our latest Ofsted news with families across Buckshaw Village, Chorley and the surrounding area. The day nursery at The Hub has once again been rated Outstanding in every available area, marking our third consecutive Outstanding grading since we first opened in 2011.
Outstanding in every available area
To be awarded Outstanding once is a real achievement. To earn it three times in a row, across every area assessed, is something our whole team is enormously proud of. The inspector commended the team for putting children's wellbeing at the heart of everything we do, noting that the children enjoyed every minute of their time in this inclusive, calm and appealing nursery.
Over the moon with the result
Operations Manager Julie Wilde said the team were over the moon with the Outstanding result once again. She was especially proud given the challenges of returning to normality after the COVID-19 lockdowns, alongside the September 2021 changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
Staying connected through lockdown
During the pandemic closures, our staff worked hard to stay connected with the children in their care. Frequent video calls kept familiar faces close to home, with live storytelling and singing sessions helping children feel supported and part of their nursery family even when they could not attend in person.
Learning across the whole of The Hub
One of the things that makes our nursery special is the range of facilities right here on site. The children benefit from enriched learning experiences using the Splash swimming pool, the Cappuccino cafe and the Hair and Beauty salon. As Julie put it, we are so lucky to have all these extras on site for the children to learn in too.
