Last Minute Christmas Guide

Christmas just seems to have crept up on us this year. Last week it was Halloween and then POOF it’s the week before Christmas! That means we’re not quite as organised as we’d like to be with our Christmas gifts this year. But fear not, we’ve got some great last minute gift ideas for everyone below. Take a look!

Last Minute Gifts for Her

Whether it’s your mum, sister, best friend or girlfriend, we all have a woman in our life who deserves spoiling this Christmas. Here are some of our ideas for last minute gifts, which still show you care.

Stocking Fillers

  • The Essentials – fill their stocking with all those little bits that they need, but can be a pain to go and buy themselves. Get them some makeup wipes, a big tub of body butter, their favourite fake tan and a mitt, some scented shower gel, Vaseline or Caramex for dry lips, an extra long charger cable or portable charger, some fluffy socks – and, of course, lots of chocolate. It shouldn’t be too pricey, but shows how well you know them.
  • A Few of Their Favourite Things – step things up a bit by filling their stocking with some of their favourite luxe treats, which they rarely indulge in for themselves. Buy them some luxury hot chocolate and a cute Christmassy mug. If they prefer coffee or tea, you could buy them a selection box of different flavours to try or some flavoured syrups. A silk pillowcase is another luxurious gift which will stop her waking up with bed head every morning. And finally, we all love a Yankee Candle but they can be a bit pricey, so treat her to her favourite scent or buy her a few little ones to try.
  • Hair and Beauty Vouchers – this one’s sure to be a winner. Get them a voucher to get their hair, nails or another beauty treatment done in January when they might be a little strapped for cash. Depending on how much you spend, it could be a stocking filler or a main present. Our salon has vouchers on sale now, call them on 01772 453435 or pop in store and pick some up.

Main Presents

  • A Treat For the Feet – UGG slippers are a lovely gift that are practical too. The soft wool lining will keep her feet warm and comfortable on even the coldest days, plus they look good too! Choose the Scuffette II for a more traditional look, or Fluff Yeah for something a bit younger and trendier.
  • All That Glitters – Jewelry is always a beautiful gift to receive. Make it more personal by buying a necklace with her zodiac sign engraved into it, or her initials, or the initials of loved ones. Missoma is many people’s go-to for personal jewelry, but you can find cheaper alternatives online too.
  • Make Some Memories – sometimes the best gift is doing something together. Concert tickets, a night away or a fancy meal are all great options. Cappuccino’s also host a great afternoon tea with sandwiches, soup, savouries and cakes to nibble at whilst you enjoy a cup of tea or – even better – a bottle of Prosecco. This would make a lovely little trip out together, and you can book in by calling 01772 454287.

Last Minute Gifts For Him

Men can be hard to buy for at the best of times, especially when you’ve not got a lot of time to pick it! So we’ve put our heads together to come up with some great last minute gifts for the men in your life, that aren’t just boxers and socks.

Stocking Fillers

  • Self-Care Stocking – get him all those self-care essentials that he loves, but will never buy for himself. Start with a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, to keep his skin clean and soft in the winter months. If he has some beard, get him a beard comb and some beard shampoo. Alternatively, if he likes to keep it trim, get him some new shaving cream and shaving balm to soothe his skin. Another little gift that’s sure to help him unwind is a head and scalp massager, which he can run up and down his head for hours. Then, pack his stocking with his favourite chocolates and some teas or hot chocolate.
  • Sporty Stocking – if he loves the gym, there are some great stocking filler gifts that you can easily pick up for him. I know we said no socks, but if he’s into fitness, he’s sure to appreciate some new Nike socks or some thick walking socks for hikers. A new large water bottle, his favourite protein powder, a massage ball or roller, and a phone holder for their arm or chest are all great options.
  • Gaming Stocking – if the man in your life is a big gamer, you could fill his stocking with gaming themed bits and bobs that he’ll love. Firstly, if he’s still using AA batteries in his Xbox controller, you can replace it with their rechargeable battery option instead. A personalised controller holder will also stop him losing his controller every time he puts it down. Some blue light glasses could also take some of the strain off his eyes whilst he games. Other than that, fill his stocking with his favourite gaming snacks and drinks.

Main Presents

  • For the Music Man – depending on what he already has and when he likes to listen to his music, you could get him a few different music themed main presents. If he likes to listen to his tunes whilst he’s out and about, you could buy him some wireless earphones and headphones. A lot of people immediately think of Beats, but there are some cheaper alternatives that still perform well. On the other hand, if he likes to have his music blasting out around the home, you could buy him a portable speaker. The more powerful, the better. Finally, for the purist, you could invest in a record player and some of his favourite artists on vinyl.
  • Massage Gun – you’ve likely seen these everywhere at the minute and there’s a reason – they’re amazing! A massage gun reaches deep into your muscles to ease pain and aid recovery, which makes it a great gift for men who love the gym or have a manual job.
  • Flying High – this is pretty pricey and not very practical, but sometimes those are the best presents! A drone is sure to make him smile when he opens it on Christmas Day, and by Boxing Day he’s sure to be dragging you out to the nearest field to try it out.

We hope this has given you some inspiration for some last minute gifts so good they’ll never know it was last minute! And remember, Christmas is about the people you’re with, not the gifts you get.

Merry Christmas from everyone at The Hub, we’ll see you in 2022!
