We are very proud to announce that our eggs have hatched and we have baby chicks. We have two so far, and they are located in Lower Buckshaw for all to see. The children love them.

A hatching to remember at our Buckshaw Village nursery

There is nothing quite like the excitement of watching an egg hatch. Here at The Hub at Buckshaw in Buckshaw Village, Chorley, the children have been counting down the days, and their patience has been rewarded with two adorable baby chicks. We have set them up in Lower Buckshaw so everyone can pop by and say hello.

Real-life experiences like this are a big part of everyday learning in our nursery. Caring for the chicks helps our children explore nature, understand life cycles and learn to be gentle and responsible with living things, all while having plenty of fun along the way.

Learning through nature

Watching the chicks grow gives children a wonderful, hands-on way to build curiosity and confidence. It sparks conversations about where eggs come from, how creatures are cared for and why living things need warmth, food and kindness. These are exactly the kinds of memorable moments that shape a genuine love of learning in the early years.

Our commitment to rich, real-world experiences is one of the many reasons families across Buckshaw Village, Chorley, Leyland, Euxton, Preston and Whittle-le-Woods choose our setting. Our nursery is rated Ofsted Outstanding across every available area and holds the Millie's Mark accreditation, so parents can feel completely confident about the care their child receives.
