Buckshaw Village Nursery has two spacious outdoor areas which enable young children to develop all areas of development.
One outdoor area is situated to the side of The Caterpillars and The Butterflies Play Rooms. They are accessible via “The Pods” which provide us with shelter from the sun and the rain from each room– and are our purpose built indoor/outdoor play areas. Children have access to a large range of physical resources, along with the Willow tunnel and various water and mud play resources.
Our second outdoor area is situated to the side of Lower & Upper Buckshaw rooms offering sunny and shady areas, and is fitted with its very own safety regulated climbing frame and slide along with water play, sand play, a fabulous mud kitchen, a sensory quiet area and the ‘Atelier’ for adult-led art activities. The children love nothing more than going out and exploring this part of the nursery environment.
We also have our own ‘Vegetable garden’ on site where we grow a variety of fruit and vegetables offering many learning opportunities around our food and where it comes from. All children access the garden in turn to water the plants and generally enjoy being outdoors!
